Denise Ricciardi for NH Senate 9 (R-Bedford) issued the following statement today on the Senate passing of SB 413-FN, relative to civil actions for PFAS contamination:

“This bill was drafted in consultation with the Attorney General’s office and the Department of Environmental Services to focus on improving New Hampshire’s water quality and cleaning up PFAS pollution from our water table. Every Granite Stater should have access to clean drinking water and not have to worry about forever chemicals. It allows facilities that have contaminated PFAS water to not only be strictly liable for costs of the state responding to the water release, but also for cleanup, restoration, containments, and other remediations related to the release or threatened release. Dealing with these forever chemicals helps prevent further contamination in water for Granite State families and protects our most vital natural resource.”
