In the posting “TWO STORIES OF LAND” (part 2) Camilla Sanderson talked about Senator Ricciardi’s visit to the town of Temple, which is located in Senatorial District 9.
In Temple, New Hampshire, on Labor Day, Monday September 7, at four in the afternoon, about 35-40 members of our local community gathered at a nearby pony farm where a neighbor had generously offered to host. My husband, Jamie, has been keeping neighbors informed by email as new details emerge about the land clearing next door. He also invited several of our local elected representatives to join us.
I was delighted to meet our New Hampshire Senator Denise Ricciardi. Although she is registered as a Republican, she enjoyed telling us that, first of all, she doesn’t see herself as a politician, and also that her initials include D and R which reflects how she feels connected with both parties.
I also loved hearing her Erin Brockovich-like story of how she found herself somewhat drafted into politics.
